Marigolds 'n' Berries Card

Welcome fellow crafters and flower lovers to my blog, I want to thank you for stopping by and sharing a part of your day with me.  This month I was inspired to draw Marigold N' Berries Digital Stamp Set for my Etsy Shop.  The rich colors of the "Beautiful Blossoms Mood Board" for this month brought these images to life...

Suggested card size is 5"x7".  My Marigolds 'n' Berries stamp set can be found on my Etsy Shop.

I started this image using the Berry stem.
Mirror reversed the image, sized it to 7-3/4"
and angled it.  I drew a whiteout block on
the lower 1/3rd of the stem.   Then use the
Marigolds 'n' Berries image, size to 8-1/4",
angle slightly over the stem as shown.

Print on Hammermill® 100lb. White Coverstock.

Color your images as desired.  I chose to use
Copic® Markers in the "Beautiful Blossoms Mood Board" colors.

Marigold stems and leaves:

       G12,   YG61,   YG63,   BG18

Marigold Flowers:
       Y11,   Y13,   Y15,   Y19,   R37

Berries:
        BG11,   BG13,   BG15,   BG18

Berry leaves:
       G12,   BG70,   BG72,   Bg75

Cut the image to fit a 5"x7" card front.

My secret to finding the right portion of
an image I want to use is:  I cut a 5"x7"
rectangle window in the center of a piece
of cardstock and move it around until I
am satisfied and lightly draw the rectangle
around the image I want to use.  Then cut
it out.  I keep it hanging next to my desk
for quick access.

About 1" in from the right edge using a lead pencil, lightly draw a guideline.

Using an X-acto knife, carefully cut around
any parts of the image to the right of the line.
this is to enable you to slide your border die
under.

Depending on the border die you choose
to use you may need to re-align and cut
from other end in order to cut the full 7".

I am using 5in. length 4 pc. Flower Edge
Embossing® metal dies from my stash.

Using your 5"x7" cardbase,  (Sorry pic is backwards) Trim 3/4" off of the front panel
of the cardbase.Using your 5"x7" cardbase,  (Sorry pic is backwards) Trim 3/4" off of the front panel
of the cardbase.

Open the cardbase and adhere a 1-1/4"x7"
rectangle of DCWV® Double side Teal card-stock to the interior back panel outer edge.

Flip the cardbase,  align and adhere the
colored image to the front panel of the
cardbase as shown.

                                                                            Using DCWV® Double-Sided Cardstock - Teal
and a sentiment of your choosing.  Cut and adhere to the front panel.
I used a "Thank You" die from my stash.

OPTIONAL - Using scraps from making
the card and an extra image, fussy cut
and make a couple of image pieces.
Arrange and add a name badge.   Adhere
to the backside of the card as shown.

I hope you enjoyed this journey of Marigold N' Berries Digital Stamp Set Instant Digital Download - Etsy.  Available on Etsy.  Join us at "Beautiful Blossoms Challenge" each month for wonderful floral inspiration.

Violets are Blue Card

Hello fellow crafters and flower lovers!   I am so excited and honored to be a part of the ever-so-talented Beautiful Blossoms Challenge Blog for 2024!   I chose to draw some violets for this first card tutorial post.

For those of you who are interested in this card I will share with you my list of supplies used.  I used the violets I drew for this occasion, Hammermill® 100lb. White Coverstock,  Core'dinations® Celestial from my stash, Blue Pathways from my stash, Silver Mirrored Foil cardstock from my stash, and a scrap of the Celestial and colored it with COPIC® BV04.

As for the dies I used- I was blessed with some new dies from my brother and his wife for Christmas- they work perfectly for this card.  Hying Flower Leaves Frame Die was the larger die and Amazon -Metal Nested Cutting Dies are the two small pieces.  The embellishments I used are: Nuvo® Crystal Drops- Morning Dew, Nuvo® Glitter Drops- White Blizzard, Studio G® - Green Glitter Drops,  VersaMagic® - Aegean Blue and Silver Baker's Twine. You will need a small paint brush to apply the Glitter glues.   The adhesives I used are:  Elmer's® Craft Bond Spray, EZ-Tear® Tape, Bearly Art® Precision Glue and Foam Tape.

Come along as I walk you through this card step by step...

I started this card using my new sketch "Violets are Blue", sizing it to 3-3/4"x 3-3/4".  Copied and pasted a second image.  Printed on Hammermill®   100lb. White Coverstock.

You may have a flower you desire to use instead.

However, you can purchase this set- Violets are Blue 5105- at Jan's Digis on Etsy.

You can color your images as desired.

I chose to use COPIC® Markers to color mine.
I used BV00, BV02, BV04 and Multiliner Lavender to color the petals with YG01 on the inner part of the petal as shown.

I used Y00 and an orange x-fine Sharpie® to color the stamen.

Fussy Cut your images as shown.

After fussy cutting my images, I applied Nuvo® Glitter Drops - White Blizzard with a small brush to the flower petals from the petal edge flicking in towards the center of each flower.  Apply to both images.   LET DRY!

Brush on the Studio G® - Green Glitter Drops to the leaves from the outer edge flicking in towards the center as shown.

I then applied Nuvo® Crystal Drops- Morning Dew to the flower centers as a small tear drop shaped dot.    LET DRY!!

I then cut one of my "Hying Flower Leaves Frame Die" using Hammermill® 100lb. White Coverstock.

I then cut two (2) of the center of my Amazon - Metal Nested Cutting Dies.

I chose to color the Leaves of the “Hying Flower Leaves Frame Die” cut using my COPIC® YG61 and Yg63 as shown.

Cut a 5" x 7" Core'dinations® Celestial Rectangle and edge using Versamagic®- Aegan Blue.

Cut a 4" x 5-1/2" rectangle of the Blue Pathways, center and adhere the Core'dinations® Celestial leaving the upper left corner loose and the lower right corner loose.

Using Elmer's® Craft Bond Spray, lightly spray the backside of the "Hying Flower Leaves Frame Die" cut and adhere at a slight angle.

Slide one of the Amazon - Metal Nested Cutting Die cuts under the 4"x 5-1/2" Blue Pathways upper left corner of the rectangle and one under the lower right corner as shown.

Using Foam Tape, align and adhere the small fussy cut of flowers to the full main image.  Apply and adhere the full violets image to the cardfront  as shown.
Using EZ-Tear® Tape adhere the card front to the 5"x 7" cardbase.  Make sure the fold is on the left.
I like to decorate the backside of my cards.  As an OPTION - use a couple of scraps from the materials used to make the card and a name plaque and arrange.  Adhere to the backside as shown.

Using Silver Baker's twine to wrap 2x around the cardbase at the fold.  Tie a bow.
Using Silver Mirrored Foil cardstock cut a sentiment of your choosing.   I chose "Thinking of You".

I hope you enjoyed my inspirational creation for Beautiful Blossoms.  I invite you to join us each 15th of the month for a FUN challenge and some creative floral inspiration.  I will be posting new card tutorials on Blogger moving forward.  Please Follow my new Blog on Blogger!

Hello Fellow Crafters and Flower Lovers!  I would like to Congratulate Donna Walls and "Beautiful Blossoms Challenge" on their 1st Anniversary.   I made this fabulous Z-Fold card in celebration of this illustrious occasion and invite you to join us in celebrating.

Come along as I walk you through this charming Anniversary Card Celebrating "Beautiful Blossoms".   Like so many, I have a box of specialty papers I keep saving and saving for something special and never seem to use.  Today I am breaking into that stash of special papers.

These are the materials that I used to make this card.  To start the papers I chose were Hammermill® 100lb. White Coverstock,  The Paper Studio® - Crepe - White,  The Paper Studio® - Circle Stitched - White,  Indian Embossed Cotton® - Pearl Swirl White, a 5"x7" Z-fold Cardbase and Silver Mirrored Foil Cardstock.   The Stamp Sets I used are from Jan's Digital Etsy Shop®Silver Bells 5095J and Violets are Blue 5105.  The sentiment I used was a "Happy Anniversary" die.  To color and embellish the images I used COPIC® Markers and American Crafts®-Pearlescent Watercolor,  Liquid Pearls® White Opal.  You will also need Foam Tape,  EZ-Tear® Tape, Bearly Art® Precision Glue and a small paint brush.

To start I cut my rectangles of specialty papers.   Cut a 2-1/2"x7" rectangle of The Paper Studio® - Crepe - White.   Cut a 2"x7" rectangle of  Indian Embossed Cotton® - Pearl Swirl White.   Cut a 3-1/2"x7" rectangle of The Paper Studio® - Circle Stitched - White.

Adhere the 2"x7" rectangle of  Indian Embossed Cotton® - Pearl Swirl White to the inside panel of the 5"x7" Z-Fold cardbase as shown.

Adhere the  2-1/2"x7" rectangle of The Paper Studio® - Crepe - White to the front top panel of the 5"x7" cardbase as shown.

Adhere the 3-1/2"x7" rectangle of The Paper Studio® - Circle Stitched - White to the outer front panel of the 5"x7" Z-Fold Cardbase as shown.

Using your scrap of Silver Mirrored Foil Cardstock and your sentiment die run through the Big Shot and adhere to the front top panel of the 5"x7" Z-Fold Cardbase.

For the images I used 5095 Silver Bells and 5105 Violets are Blue from "Jan's Digital Etsy Shop".  I sized the Silver Bells with bow only to 3"x 3-3/4".   I sized the Violets are Blue Image to 2-1/4"x 2-1/4",  copied and pasted Violets are Blue to the bow of Silver Bells as shown.

Print on Hammermill® 100lb. White Coverstock.

Color as desired.

I chose to use COPIC Markers to color:

BG90,  BG93 for the leaves

C0,  C1,   C3 for the bells and bow

YG01 for the flower centers

R81,   R83,   R85 for the flower petals and stamen

Fussy cut your images as shown.

Embellish the flowers using American Crafts®-Pearlescent Watercolor.

Brush on a light coat of Liquid Pearls® White Opal to the bow.  Apply small dots of Liquid Pearls® White Opal to the bands on the bells.   LET DRY!

Using foam taper align and adhere the small flower image to the flower and Bell image.

Adhere the sentiment and the Bell flower image to the Front (Center) panel as shown.

I like to decorate the backside of my cards as well.  It is optional... Using rectangle scraps from materials used to make my cards arrange a few pieces and a name plaque (Maker's mark) and adhere to the backside of the cardbase as shown.
